  • About Our Hospital

Kindred Hospital Arizona - Phoenix is a 58-bed transitional care hospital that specializes in providing long-term acute care for medically complex patients who require continued care and extended recovery time. Our hospital is certified by Medicare and accredited by The Joint Commission. Our patients come to us primarily from general short-term acute care hospitals, usually directly from intensive care units. These patients are unable to recover completely in the short-term setting and at the end of their traditional hospital stay, still require acute care.

Kindred Hospital Arizona - Phoenix is part of a nationwide network of transitional care hospitals with notable success in weaning patients from ventilators. Utilizing a proven weaning protocol, the hospital has an excellent wean rate for patients on a ventilator for longer than two weeks. Ventilator and other respiratory patients are attended by a pulmonologist. The most modern technology is utilized in delivering care to patients including evaluation of breathing parameters and metabolic studies to evaluate nutrition. Care is provided using a team approach focusing on patient-centered care.

Kindred Hospital Arizona - Phoenix believes that families are extremely important to the recovery process of patients. Patient visitation is encouraged and visitors of all ages are allowed unless posted otherwise. Please call us for any current visitor age restrictions. Our private dining room may be used for family gatherings.
